I have had the pleasure of working with Dr. Cynthia Skyers-Gordon for several years, and throughout this time she has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership and mentorship. She has guided staff in understanding curriculum, policies, strategies, and instructional techniques, while generously sharing her deep knowledge of our program. Dr. Skyers-Gordon actively participates in meetings, trainings, and conferences, ensuring our program remains strong, informed, and up to date.
Over the years, she has provided me with invaluable guidance by reviewing my goals and evaluations and offering thoughtful, constructive feedback to support my professional growth. She is highly knowledgeable in CLASS and ECERS assessments and has carefully reviewed our scores to help us identify both strengths and areas for improvement. Whenever I reach out, whether by email or in person, she responds promptly and thoroughly.
During our program’s transition to distance learning, Dr. Skyers-Gordon led with clarity and compassion. She supported staff who were navigating new technology, provided training on Google Classroom and Google Meet, and ensured we had the tools and resources needed to facilitate effective small-group instruction. Her leadership during this time made a challenging transition much smoother.
Dr. Skyers-Gordon also works closely with parents, addressing concerns and providing support whenever needed. Her care extends beyond the classroom to the families we serve, reflecting her commitment to the overall well-being of our community.
