Leave One Thing for Tomorrow
How to Use the Activity
At the end of the day, look at what remains on your to-do list and intentionally choose one non-urgent task that can wait until tomorrow.
Ask yourself:
• Does this truly need to be completed today?
• What will happen if I leave it until tomorrow?
• Is this a “needs to be done” or a “could be done”?
Write the task down for tomorrow and give yourself permission to leave it unfinished today.
Why This Matters
Teachers can feel pressure to leave the classroom only after everything has been completed. However, there will almost always be something else that could be done. Intentionally postponing a non-urgent task helps educators practice boundaries and recognize that ending the workday does not require finishing everything.
Closing Reflection
“Leaving something for tomorrow does not erase what I accomplished today.”
