The 60-Second Reset
How to Use the Activity
After a difficult classroom moment, give yourself 60 seconds before moving into the next task or interaction.
Use that minute to:
• Straighten one small area around you.
• Release the tension in your shoulders.
• Take one slow breath.
• Identify what you need for the next part of the day.
The goal is not to make the difficult moment disappear. It is to keep that one moment from following you into everything that comes next.
Why This Matters
Teachers often have little time to recover between challenging situations and the next classroom responsibility. Without a transition, frustration and tension can carry into later interactions. A brief reset creates space to acknowledge what happened and intentionally move forward.
Closing Reflection
“One difficult moment does not have to become my whole day.”
