Some children calm through movement.
Others calm through listening.

How to Use This Activity

  • Ask children to close their eyes (or look down).

  • Say: “Let’s be sound detectives.”

  • Listen for three sounds:

    1. a far sound

    2. a near sound

    3. a body sound (breath, swallow, heartbeat)

  • Share at the end.

Why This Matters

Listening slows the brain, strengthens attention, and reduces classroom overstimulation.
